VERIS Accelabar is a new and unique flow meter that combines two differential pressure technologies to produce high accuracy at low ranges never before attainable until now with no straight run requirements.

Verabar® Velocity Averaging Flow Sensor

Superior Sensor Design

Developed from aerospace technology, the Verabar averaging pitot low sensor provides unsurpassed accuracy and reliability. With its solid one-piece construction and bullet shape, the Verabar makes flow measurement clog-free and precise. The unique sensor shape reduces drag and low-induced vibration. And the location of the low-pressure ports eliminates the potential for clogging and improves signal stability.

How it Works

The Verabar senses the natural averaged pressures created by the velocity of the fluid. When the fluid impacts the sensor, it creates a high-pressure zone (greater than the pipe static pressure) in front of the sensor. As the fluid moves past the sensor, it accelerates and a low-pressure zone is created to the sides and rear of the sensor. Alternate vortices are shed as the fluid separates from the sensor and a partial vacuum is formed at the rear of the sensor. Multiple ports are positioned in the high and low-pressure zones and an averaged differential pressure is produced. Verabar’s superior performance is due to its shape, surface condition and low-pressure port location.

Greater Resistance to Clogging

Clogging can occur in low-pressure ports located in or near the partial vacuum at the rear of the sensor. The Verabar design locates the low-pressure ports on the sides of the sensor, forward of the fluid separation point and turbulent wake area. This virtually eliminates clogging and produces an extremely stable signal.

Accelabar® - Superior Flow Measurement Accuracy

How it Works

The Accelabar consists of a unique toroidal nozzle design and a Verabar averaging pitot. The nozzle has a patented “settling distance” that accelerates, linearizes and stabilizes the velocity profile sensed by the Verabar. The Verabar located within the nozzle accurately measures and significantly increases the differential pressure output to increase the operating range (turndown).

No Straight Run Required

The Accelabar can be used in extremely limited straight run piping configurations. The straight run is integral to the meter. The stabilization and linearization of the velocity profile within the throat of the nozzle eliminates the need for any upstream run.

High Accuracy and Extended Turn Down

The proven technology of the Verabar makes the Accelabar work. It accurately measures the flow rate within the nozzle. Its unique bullet shape, constant flow coefficient, solid-one-piece construction, non-clog design and signal stability make it the only design capable of producing the overall performance.

Ready to Install

The Accelabar is a complete flow meter ready to install. It comes complete with single or dual transmitters depending on the turndown requirements. An optional RTD is supplied in a Thermowell for dynamic compensation (required for use with multivariable transmitter).

Model 300 Series Inline Delta Tube Flow Element

The Model 300 Series Inline Delta Tube Flow Element may be used for the measurement of flow in pipe lines from 1/2” NPS through 3” NPS. The Model 300 Series utilizes two averaging flow elements of equal area to sense stagnation (RAM) and static differential pressure providing minimum permanent pressure loss. This flow element can be supplied with your choice of plain, threaded, or flanged end connections in a wide variety of materials.

  • Offered with both 1/4” FNPT ((Standard) and 1/2” FNPT instrument connections
  • Materials available: Carbon Steel, 316 Stainless Steel, and CPVC Solvent weld
  • Pipe size: 1/2”, 3/4”, 1”, 1-1/2”, 2”, 2-1/2”, & 3” in carbon and stainless steels
